#MemorialDay Series Day 1: CAPT Robert Dolan
May 23, 2022CAPT Robert Dolan
Next week is Memorial Day and we at Trident wanted to highlight the sacrifices made by so many. Not only highlight the life of these unsung heroes and their legacy, but to give back to their memory by honoring them here. As a SDVOSB company, we have had the unique honor to not only serve alongside some amazing people, but also the responsibility to honor the memories of those we have lost. Everyone we highlight this week has a direct link to a Trident member; this week, we honor their memories.
To start off our Memorial Day series we are highlighting Navy CAPT Robert Dolan. A U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1981 graduate, CAPT Dolan was Trident’s Tom Wing’s First Set Squad Leader his Plebe Summer (summer before freshman year at USNA). Dolan was remembered as a good man, fair, funny, and an outstanding leader by Wing. His girlfriend at the time, and later his wife, used to make cookies for them, Wing remembers fondly. He was an East Coast Surface Warfare Officer so “I only ran into him once after he graduated, but he remembered, and was gracious,” said Wing.
Dolan was one of 189 members who were killed at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 (64 people on Flight 77 and 125 people inside the Pentagon). Today, we honor the “fair, funny, and outstanding leader”, CAPT Robert Dolan.
CAPT Dolan – we have the watch.
