Trident Certified as VOSB and SDVOSB by SBA 

We are thrilled to announce that Trident has been officially certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as both a Veteran Owned Business (VOSB) and a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).  

Trident has been recognized as a SDVOSB since our inception in 2009. However, the certification authority transferred from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the SBA in January 2023. This meant that SDVOSBs and VOSBs who were previously certified by the VA or self-certified had to undergo a re-certification process under the new regulations in order to be officially recognized as VOSB or SDVOSB. 

Certification as a VOSB and SDVOSB requires a company to meet specific criteria. For these categories, a company must 

• Be a small business per the SBA size standard. 
• Be registered as a small business in SAM.gov. 
• Must have no less than 51% of the business owned and controlled by one or more veterans. This is confirmed by the VA.  
• SDVOSBs, specifically, must have no less than 51% of the business owned and controlled by a veteran who is rated service-disabled by the VA.
